Mayor Garret Nancolas

Welcome to the City of Caldwell, "The Treasure of the Valley". As you come into the magnificent and picturesque Treasure Valley from the west, you will be welcomed by Caldwell, the first major City and entrance to the Treasure Valley. You will be greeted by a community full of friendly, sincere people and the beautiful Boise River. We can take care of your hotel and motel accommodations, your tastes with wonderful food from our local restaurants and your recreational needs.

Caldwell is the home of two magnificent golf courses, museums displaying artifacts, and a community full of history. There are many buildings on the historical register as well as sites in our downtown associated with our rich past. We are the site of many events in Idaho's history, such as the assassination of Governor Steunenberg and the path of the Oregon Trail.

We welcome you and encourage you to join us.

Caldwell's Crime Rate Continues to Drop

I am so pleased to annouce that the crime rate in the City of Caldwell has continued on a downward trend. Thanks to the wonderful work of the City and County law enforcement teams and the amazing community partners like the school district, YMCA and residents of Caldwell along with the Prosecutor's office for making Caldwell a safer place to live. The Caldwell Police Department recently put together a presentation highlighting the downward trend in crime to view the presentation follow the link below. Here is what Police Chief Chris Allgood had to say about the crime reduction.

"The Caldwell Police Department takes great pride in recent crime reduction statistics that show a decline in the crime rate for the City of Caldwell. Together with the County and neighboring City law enforcement teams, Caldwell has been successful in an active campaign to lower crime. The overall crime rate in the City and Canyon County has steadily declined over the past few years. The decline can be attributed to prevention measures that have been put into place by the police departments and the partnerships with the school districts and residents of Caldwell who have worked hard to ensure that the City is a safe and healthy place for children and families to live, work and play. In te past few years, Caldwell has benefitted from some wonderful additions to the community such as the YMCA and Mayor's Youth Advisory Council which provide the youth in the community with safe and productive alternatives to crime. The Prosecutor's office, the work of Special Assistant US Attorney has also been instrumental in helping to curb the crime rate by prosecuting offenders to the full extent of the law and making a statement that crime will not be tolerated in this community. On behalf of the City of Caldwell I am happy to announce that all of these great efforts have been successful in making Caldwell a safer place. Thank you to all of the law enforcement agencies, Prosecutor's office and wonderful community parterns who have helped in accomplishing such an incredible task."

Red Carpet Program

As part of the ongoing process to better serve the community, the City of Caldwell has launched the Red Carpet Program to help attract businesses to the area during this time of economic recovery. The city has assembled a team of specialists to assist customers through various stages of the permitting and review processes. The team is composed of representatives from the city's engineering, fire, building safety, and planning and zoning departments. Team members will sheperd projects through the permitting and inspection process from start to finish. The team's main goal is to eliminate lost time and deliver projects as rapidly as possible. The Red Carpet Program was implemented in May and has already received some positive responses including this letter posted below. Welcome to Caldwell Mr. Multanen and Best Bath and thank you for your letter.
